Forum 18: Questions or comments regarding Proscar Propecia FAQs:
Post:Hi everyone,
Hey everyone,
Ive been looking into purchasing Proscar Propecia (Finasteride) and want to know if there are any alternatives that you guys think might be more cost-effective than Propecia?
Ive heard that Propecia is the best choice, but is there any generic version out there?
thanks!
Ive heard that Proscar Propecia has the same effect as Propecia, but it is more affordable for those who need it. Do you have any other options?
Thanks!
Ive heard that Proscar Propecia can be more affordable for some people, but I'm wondering if there's any other cheaper alternatives out there.
Wouldn't that be something you'd have to consider before making your decision?
I would definitely discuss it with my doctor before making a decision on a drug like Propecia. The benefits of the drug are very low and they do not affect other medications like finasteride. It's not like Propecia has any negative side effects and they do not interact with other drugs or medications that might interact with Propecia. That's why it's important to have open discussions with your doctor about this and other medications that you are considering.
Ive read that Finasteride (Propecia) works very well as an inhibitor of 5-alpha reductase, which is an enzyme in your body that converts testosterone into DHT. It's also one of the most effective drugs in men. It's also used to treat male pattern hair loss (androgenetic alopecia) and benign prostatic hyperplasia. Finasteride has been around for a long time and has been very effective for some people who need this medication.
Thanks for your help!
I agree with your advice that Finasteride (Propecia) is a better choice. I've been taking Proscar for 3 years now and I'm starting to see a change in my hair loss and hair growth. But if I stop taking it, it can stop the progression of hair loss and hair growth. So maybe it's worth considering finasteride (proscar propecia) as a long-term solution?
Thats exactly what I was thinking. Finasteride is a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor. Propecia has been around for about three decades and the first 5-alpha reductase inhibitor (proscar) was approved in 1997. It's effective at reducing the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia and hair loss. However, it also has some side effects and has been shown to be somewhat less effective than Propecia. I think I need to discuss with my doctor with some of my current patients about what to expect.
I've read that Propecia (Proscar) is a much safer drug than finasteride (Propecia) but it's more expensive. Is there a way to make sure I'm getting the best results from this medication?
Thanks for the help guys!
I feel more comfortable with the idea that I have to make a choice with my doctor or with my doctor to decide on a drug that works better for me and the other people who are considering it.
I'll keep an eye on my patient's side effects and talk with them about the different options.
I agree with your advice about finasteride. I have been on it for about a year now and I've noticed a noticeable improvement in my hair growth. But I still have to keep taking it.
I'll start a new prescription and talk with my doctor about this. Should I just stick with the same thing?
Thank you!
You're welcome!
I agree that I have to take Propecia and I will discuss it with my doctor.
You have to be careful with taking it and it's possible that you'll lose it over time. However, I've been on Propecia for almost 4 years and have seen no significant changes in my hair growth.
It's also important to keep in mind that finasteride can cause serious side effects. In most cases, these are mild and tend to disappear when you stop taking the drug.
